About the Role

We're looking for an innovative and hands-on AI Engineer to join our growing team. You'll play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge AI solutions using Machine Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Speech Technologies. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform ideas into scalable, production-ready products that create real impact.

What You'll Do

- Design, develop, train, fine-tune, evaluate, and deploy Machine Learning and Deep Learning models for production environments.
- Build AI-powered applications using Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, and modern AI frameworks.
- Develop and optimize Natural Language Processing (NLP) solutions, including multilingual applications, text classification, summarization, translation, and information extraction.
- Design and improve Speech AI systems, including Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Text-to-Speech (TTS), speaker diarization, and speech enhancement.
- Develop data pipelines for collecting, processing, cleaning, validating, and preparing datasets for model training and evaluation.
- Integrate AI models into web, mobile, and cloud applications using APIs and scalable deployment architectures.
- Implement MLOps best practices, including model versioning, deployment, monitoring, performance optimization, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Software Engineers, Designers, Data Scientists, Linguists, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative AI-powered products.
- Conduct research, experiment with emerging AI technologies, and recommend innovative solutions that improve product performance and user experience.
- Ensure AI systems are scalable, secure, efficient, and aligned with responsible AI and data governance best practices.

What We're Looking For

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience building and deploying AI or Machine Learning solutions.
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, and Hugging Face Transformers.
- Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, RAG, and AI Agents.
- Strong understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Speech Technologies (ASR, TTS).
- Experience with FastAPI, Flask, REST APIs, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, SQL and NoSQL databases, data engineering, vector databases, and AI model deployment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Bonus Points If You Have

- Experience working with multilingual AI systems or African language technologies.
- Experience building conversational AI, AI assistants, or chatbot solutions.
- Knowledge of speech data collection, transcription, annotation, and linguistic validation.
- Contributions to open-source AI projects or published AI research.
- Experience deploying AI solutions at scale in production environments.
