Overview
Mansa is African Languages Lab's multilingual, multimodal AI system, built for African languages, accents and contexts. It chats, reasons, translates, transcribes, speaks and interprets in more than 30 African languages, alongside English, French, Spanish and Chinese, and it handles regional dialects and the natural code-switching people actually use.
Mansa is built on 100B+ curated tokens and 13,000+ hours of expert-validated speech, gathered through open-licensed sources, direct community partnerships and All Voices, the Lab's community data platform. The research behind it is peer-reviewed and award-recognised at ACL, one of the field's leading venues.
