About the program
Join African Languages Lab and gain hands-on experience working on real-world projects in AI, language technology and digital innovation. This structured 3-month program is designed to help you build practical skills, collaborate with focused teams and contribute meaningfully to solutions that matter. Interns receive a certificate on successful completion of the program.
Language (Annotator Track)
Work on multilingual AI by contributing to data annotation, transcription and language validation across African languages. This track plays a key role in improving our translation and speech systems. Interns go through a structured onboarding process, including a practical language assessment.
Software Engineering (Cloud and AI)
Support the development of scalable systems, APIs and AI models. This includes backend engineering, cloud infrastructure and working with the machine learning pipelines that power our products.
Design
Create intuitive and accessible user experiences. Interns contribute to UI and UX design, product flows and visual systems that make our tools easy to use for diverse audiences.
Social Media
Manage and grow African Languages Lab's online presence through content creation, storytelling and engagement across platforms, communicating our work and impact effectively.
Sales
Support outreach to partners and clients. Interns help identify opportunities, build relationships and contribute to strategies that drive adoption of our products.
Marketing
Work on campaigns, positioning and growth strategies, including market research, messaging and initiatives that increase awareness and user engagement.
Quality Assurance (QA)
Ensure product quality through testing and validation. Interns identify bugs, test features and help maintain high standards across all products and releases.
